Research in human affect has a long established tradition in social sciences - Philosophy, Psychology, Socio-psychology, Cognitive Science, Pragmatics, Marketing, Communication. The study of affect from a computational point of view is a recent field in Artificial Intelligence, denominated “Affective Computing”.
