Über Autor(innen)

Joseph Jr. Aduba is an economist and researcher whose work sits at the intersection of sustainable energy transition, development economics, technological and financial innovation, and macroeconomic policy. He holds a PhD in Economics from Ritsumeikan University and has held academic positions at Temple University Japan, UNSW College TNE, and Ritsumeikan University. His teaching portfolio spans microeconomics, macroeconomics, managerial economics, applied economics, and quantitative research methods, reflecting a broad engagement with economic theory and applied policy analysis. Dr. Aduba’s research examines how institutions, finance, technological learning, and innovation systems shape economic performance - particularly in emerging and developing economies. In his research, he consistently investigates how technological capability, institutional quality, and financial structures interact to influence productivity, sustainability, and economic transformation. In recent years, Dr. Aduba has expanded his research agenda toward the sustainability transitions of developing countries, focusing on renewable energy aid, green finance, biomass and waste-to-energy systems, and the macroeconomic impacts of policy uncertainty. His works are published in leading journals such as the Asia-Pacific Journal of Regional Science, International Journal of Social Economics, Technology Analysis & Strategic Management, Financial Innovation, Borsa Istanbul Review, Clean Technologies and Environmental Policy, and the Journal of Cleaner Production. Through his interdisciplinary research, policy-oriented analyses, and engagement with innovation ecosystems, Dr. Aduba continues to contribute to global conversations on how developing countries can build resilient, low-carbon, and inclusive energy futures.

Ruth Oriama is an applied economist and governance specialist whose work focuses on strengthening public finance and investment systems to improve service delivery in priority sectors. She has advised governments and development partners across Sub-Saharan Africa and fragile contexts on reforms that enhance state capability, spending efficiency, and accountability. Her sector focus includes health, education, energy, and core infrastructure. Ruth holds a PhD in Economics from the Université de Strasbourg. Her research explores how institutional design, incentives, how innovation systems shape sector competitiveness, service delivery, and the evolution of incumbent actors in emerging green and knowledge-based economies.

Prof. Koji Shimada is currently working for College of Economics, Ritsumeikan University in Japan. He is an environmental economics and policy researcher. His research interest includes renewable energy policy, energy consumption behavior, and climate change adaptation. In the field of energy consumption behavior, he published several papers such as “The Effects of Dynamic Pricing of Electric Power on Consumer Behavior: A Propensity Score Analysis for Empirical Study on Nushima Island, Japan” in collaboration with his students, including international students. He obtained Ph.D. at Kyoto University and has 17- years experiences at Ministry of the Environment, Japan.
