This book is the fifth in a series of volumes based on presentations at the international meeting of practitioners of Group Relations, held every three years in Belgirate, Italy. The 2015 meeting gathered over 70 GR practitioners around the title of 'Doing the Business of Group Relations: Un/conscious dynamics, systems and ethics'. The conference was rich in presentations about the theory underpinning the practice and application of Group Relations. The book explores the discourse of Group Relations from three perspectives: psychoanalytic theory; the internal workings of group relations conferences and "the business of Group Relations". The book goes further and explores the conscious and unconscious ways we conceptualise the discourse. In addition, there are several chapters reflecting on the experience of the meeting by several participants. As previously, this volume expands on the great tradition of applied Group Relations books that are relevant for any agent of change, manager and leader who wishes to better understand the dynamics of systems and the application of this methodology called Group Relations process of development and growth.
