GUY ARNOLD is a freelance writer and lecturer on international affairs who has long specialized in African and Commonwealth developments. He is widely travelled in African and other Commonwealth countries and was Director of the Africa Bureau. His books in this field include: Towards Peace and Multiracial Commonwealth; Kenyatta and the Politics of Kenya; The Third World Handbook; Wars in the Third World since 1945; and The End of the Third World.
