On 26th December 1967 Mira Alfassa – The Mother decided to explain Sri Aurobindo’s spiritual epic poem SAVITRI in its true sense and began the work on 18th January 1968 under the title ABOUT SAVITRI (published in two volumes).
The Mother read out the chosen passages from SAVITRI in English language and then after a moment of meditation gave her explanations which were written down for publication. These transcriptions She gave to Michel Montecrossa who, with Her blessings has established the MIRAPURI-VERLAG (Publishing House) and the FILMAUR Film-, TV and Multimedia Company in Germany, to produce the printed Book and Download releases of the transcriptions as a supplement to the complete MEDITATIONS ON SAVITRI Movie-Series produced by Filmaur and the MEDITATIONS ON SAVITRI printed Book-Series published by Mirapuri-Verlag.
Vol. I of the ABOUT SAVITRI Book Series presents the complete transcription of the text passages from Sri Aurobindo’s SAVITRI, Book I, Canto 1 & 4 together with The Mother’s explanations that were tape-recorded. These original tape-recordings are also available as Audio-Books on Audio-CD and as Download.
Vol. II of the ABOUT SAVITRI Book Series presents the complete transcription of the text passages from Sri Aurobindo’s SAVITRI, Book I, Canto 1 & 4 together with The Mother’s explanations that were not tape-recorded and therefore are not included in Vol. I.
Vol. II of the ABOUT SAVITRI Book Series furthermore presents the complete text passages from Sri Aurobindo’s SAVITRI, Book I, Canto 2 & 3 together with The Mother’s written explanations and according to Her wish along with some paintings by Huta Hindocha expressing the inspiration given by Her.
Vol. II of the ABOUT SAVITRI printed Book Series also includes photos of Sri Aurobindo from the year 1950 when he wrote the last lines of Savitri and a collection of rare photos of The Mother from the time when she created the ABOUT SAVITRI Book & Audio Series (1967-1969).
