The conference 'Current Issues in IT Security' brought researchers and practitioners from various disciplines together at the Max Planck Institute for Foreign and International Criminal Law in Freibrug, Germany. Marcello Bellini is employed by the IT section of the Max Planck Institute. His main tasks concern the development of IT security concepts, guidelines, and audits. He studied chemistry and computer science at the universities of Freiburg, Darmstadt and Sacramento. Beside his work at the MPI he is interested in several fields of IT security, especially in digital forensics, penetration testing and cybercrime.

Dr. Phillip W. Brunst headed the section "Information Law" at the MPI until 09/2010. His research interests include cybercrime, the activities of terrorists on the Internet, and anonymity on the Internet. He now works in Berlin and Cologne.

Jochen Jähnke heads the IT Section of the MPI. His research fields cover various technical, sociological, and criminological topics of information technology that range from the social impact of the Internet, through to cybercrime and the security of information infrastuctures.
