Biswas, Jaytilak
Jaytilak Biswas is a Faculty Member at the Institute of Business Management of NCE, Bengal, affiliated to Jadavpur University, Kolkata. Prior to this, he was a Member (Technical) of the Ordnance Factory Board, Department of Defence Production and Supplies under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India. He has worked about three-and-a-half decades at senior executive positions of various public sector enterprises and Government of India. He has been the General Manager of a number of ordnance factories such as Ordnance Factory Dumdum and Gun and Shell Factory, Cossipore, Kolkata.

Professor Biswas received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in mechanical engineering from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, and PhD from the Industrial Management Department of the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru. He is also a member of the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of India. He has been teaching courses in operations management and MISs to postgraduate students at the Institute of Business Management, Jadavpur, and has also conducted executive development programmes for senior managers from private and public sectors. He is a guest faculty to many leading institutions. He has published several papers in specialized national and international journals of repute. He has travelled extensively in India and abroad. His current areas of academic interest are MISs, operations management, supply chain management and project management.
