[Stuttgart Church Service and Church Study]
Pluralization and Internationalization of societies change the church landscape long term;this fact is also true for Germany. The LIMRIS-study with its objective of the metropolitan region of Stuttgart (population: 2.7 million people) offers a new and unique perspective on given realities concerning this change. The fact that numbers and insights of this study paint a significantly different picture of church and Sunday worship services than what is typically transmitted via media makes this study so highly explosive. Supported by 85 high-quality graphics and maps, as well as a thoroughly detailed index, the Stuttgart study highlights phenomena for which we have lacked insight to date: the whole body of churches from an ecumenical perspective and its denominational differences, the plurality of Protestantism, current aspects of Pietism, international churches and the development of migrant independent churches, as well as the reality of local church worship services and their relevance.
