ZuoNing Chen is an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the chief engineer of the National Parallel Computer Engineering Technology Research Center, and a former vice president of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. She was a deputy to the 10th National People's Congress and an alternate member of the 17th and 18th Central Committees of the Communist Party of China. Academician Chen has long dedicated herself to China's computer industry. She has participated in and presided over many major national and military scientific research projects. She has won the Special Prize for National Scientific and Technological Progress twice and the First Prize for National Scientific and Technological Progress twice. She has also received the China Youth Science and Technology Award, the title of Outstanding Young and Middle-aged Expert with Outstanding Contributions to the Country, the Qiushi Award, and the China Young Scientist Award.
