The aim of this first volume on Upper Silesia is to present an area of great cultural, historical, social and natural diversity from a transdisciplinary perspective. The selection of texts is intended to show the complexity and topicality of the subject of Upper Silesia and to indicate its originality. Univ.-Prof. Dr. habil. Renata Dampc-Jarosz ist Germanistin und Literaturprofessorin an der Schlesischen Universität in Katowice, Polen. Zu ihren Forschungsschwerpunkten gehören Literatur und Kultur der deutschen Romantik, Briefkultur, Frauenliteratur des 19. und 20. Jahrhunderts, deutschsprachige Literatur Oberschlesiens und komparatistische Fragestellungen.

Sadzikowska, Lucyna
Univ.-Prof. Dr. habil. Lucyna Sadzikowska ist Polonistin und Professorin der polnischen Literaturwissenschaft an der Schlesischen Universität in Katowice, Polen. Sie forscht auf den Gebieten der persönlichen Dokumentationsliteratur, der Buchwissenschaft, der Werke oberschlesischer Schriftsteller und der Literatur des Zweiten Weltkriegs.
