This book presents a synthesis of aerospace maintenance management. By focusing on the fundamentals, it goes back to the ideas of original thinkers and thought leaders, and applies their ideas to aerospace maintenance management and technical system management (TSM). It discusses each technical system element and its function; for each function covers the (i) theoretical and conceptual aspects, (ii) practical, day-to-day management aspects, (iii) continuous improvement aspects, and (iv) a summary and conclusions. The book provides (future) practitioners with the knowledge and understanding to think about (i) the concepts of technical systems, (ii) the future operating environment, and (iii) innovations such as new concepts, theories and tools to improve aerospace maintenance management and TSM. The TSM principles for aerospace equally apply to technical systems in other industries.
