Yamini Jhanji Dhir belongs to Ludhiana, Punjab however she has been residing in Bhiwani, Haryana for past decade or so fulfilling her academic and work commitments. Dr. Dhir had meritorious academic record with B. Tech & M. Tech in Textile Technology with honors. She did her PhD from IIT, Delhi in 2015 and since then had been ardently involved in research and development activities. Dr. Dhir has a rich academic experience of nearly two decades serving as assistant professor till October 2023 and thereafter as Associate Professor. Currently, she is serving as Associate Professor in Department of Textile Technology at The Technological Institute of Textile & Sciences, Bhiwani. She has been instrumental in developing and taking undergraduate and post graduate courses related to textiles, fashion, garments and accessories. Dr. Dhir is conferred with several institutional administrative responsibilities related to admission process, innovation council etc. Dr. Dhir obtained grant from AICTE for conducting AICTE sponsored Faculty Development Programme and International Conference in 2020 and has successfully organized and coordinated both the events in the institute She has several conference publications, book chapters and research publication in journals of national and international repute to her credit. Her areas of interest include smart textiles, fashion accessories, sportswear and comfort characteristics of textiles. She has authored a book entitled “ Fashion Accessories- A Complete Guide to Raw Materials, Construction Methods & Styles. She is the recipient of best paper award in some national and international conferences and has also served as key note speaker, session chair and resource person in several academic events. Dr. Dhir chaired a session on Sustainable & Circular Fashion in FTC Conference at IIT Delhi. Also, she has organized several workshops, faculty development, orientation and refresher programs along with social awareness campaigns.
