The future of work is here—remote work, hybrid teams, and flexible schedules are now standard. Yet employee engagement and productivity are declining, and workplace culture is suffering. The answer? A new approach to leadership that transforms organisations and elevates team performance.

In today’s evolving workplace, effective leaders must focus on what truly matters: building strong
relationships, creating a positive organisational culture, and unleashing the full potential of their talent. The secret ingredient is “glue”— an intangible but powerful force that connects people, drives collaboration, and fuels business success. This essential leadership book reveals how to find,
create, and nurture glue within your organisation. Through compelling case studies from world-class companies including Apple, Alibaba, Barclays, HSBC, SpaceX, and more, you’ll discover proven strategies for building high-performing teams that thrive in any work environment, improving employee engagement and workplace satisfaction, and driving business transformation through smart talent management.

Whether you’re a CEO, manager, team leader, or aspiring executive, this practical guide offers a fresh vision for modern leadership. Learn how successful leaders are reimagining the workplace, strengthening company culture, and achieving breakthrough results by harnessing the collective talents, ideas, and energy of their people. John Dore is an award-winning author, keynote speaker, executive educator, and leadership consultant.
For more than twenty years, he has worked with senior leaders across hundreds of organisations and dozens of countries, helping them navigate transformation, lead through uncertainty and build organisations that thrive in an increasingly complex world. He is the founder of Wave Your Arms, through which he works with executive teams to create organisational advantage by strengthening the trust, alignment, and human connection that hold organisations together. His work is built on a simple but demanding proposition. As work becomes more distributed, AI-enabled, and complex, the
defining responsibility of leadership is no longer simply managing performance but creating organisational glue. John is the author of GLUE: Transforming Leadership in a Hybrid World, winner of the 2024 Business Book of the Year Award in the Leadership category. The book introduced the idea that the organisations which outperform their competitors are those in which people are deeply connected to a shared purpose and to the customers they serve. Those ideas continue to underpin his work
with organisations around the world. John contributes to executive programmes at leading business schools, including Cambridge Judge Business School and Hult Ashridge, and for seven years was the director of the Senior Executive Programme at London Business School, one of the Financial Times’ highest-ranked open executive programmes globally. Before founding Wave Your Arms, John was Global Head of Marketing and Communications at HSBC Private Bank, designing international leadership and client programmes around the world. John is also a published novelist and optioned screenwriter, perhaps explaining why he believes the best leadership is ultimately an act of imagination: helping people see a
future they want to create together.
