How has the audiovisual and digital communication of museums and other cultural institutions changed in the past decades? What changes can be observed in media design? Media experts and museum professionals also present examples of good cultural mediation through special applications, websites, virtual or augmented reality and in the form of interactive and virtual exhibitions and museums. Another focus is the use of media for cooperation with social minorities and marginalized groups, as well as for reducing barriers and promoting inclusion.

Dr. Michael H. FABER is a cultural anthropologist and media producer. Until 2018, he was Deputy Director of the Rhenish Open-Air Museum Kommern of the Landschaftsverband Rheinland, Germany. 1991-1994/1994-1998/2017-2019: Vice President of AVICOM, the committee for audiovisual and social media of the UNESCO-Institution "International Council of Museums". Since 2019, Michael Faber is President of AVICOM.
