Guiseppe Getto is an Associate Professor of Human-Centered Information Design and Technology and Director of the Technical Communication Management M.S. at Mercer University, Georgia, US. His research focuses on user experience (UX) design, content strategy, and participatory methods that help organizations and communities improve their practices. Suzan Flanagan is Assistant Professor of English at Utah Valley University. She specializes in technical and professional communication at the intersections of editorial processes, content strategy, and user experience (UX). She is co-editor of Editing in the Modern Classroom, an empirical research-based collection in the Association of Teachers of Technical Writing (ATTW) Book Series in Technical and Professional Communication (Routledge, 2019). Her work has been published in peer-reviewed journals, such as Technical Communication, Journal of Technical Writing and Communication, and Communication Design Quarterly.
Philip B. Gallagher is Associate Professor of Human-Centered Information Design and Technology at Mercer University. He is a member of IEEE PCS, ACM SIGDOC, and NCTE. His research is focused on communication design for STEM, AUX of technical information, and technology in communication ecosystems, including education and health care. His work has been published in academic journals, such as Communication Design Quarterly, IEEE Trans. in ProComm, Computers & Composition, and Communication Studies.
Kylie M. Jacobsen is Associate Professor of Writing at Grand Valley State University and co-directs the Traveling Usability Lab there. Her research is focused on the intersections of visual rhetoric, UX research, technical communication, and professional communication pedagogy. Her work has been published in IEEE Transactions on Professional Communication, IEEE International Professional Communication Conference (ProComm) proceedings, Intercom, and the Council for Programs in Technical and Scientific Communication proceedings. She serves as an associate editor for IEEE Transactions on Professional Communication and is a recipient of the Society for Technical Communication (STC) Distinguished Community Service Award.
Jack T. Labriola is Senior UX Researcher at Sports Reference. His research is focused on sports statistics and database products. He served as an Assistant Professor of Technical Communication at Kennesaw State University, where he helped launch the KSU Usability Research Lab. He has published and presented research at national and international journals and conferences. He holds a PhD in Technical Communication & Rhetoric from Texas Tech University and has spent his career bridging academic research and industry practice.
Amber Lancaster is Professor and Director of Professional Writing & UX programs at Oregon Institute of Technology. She has over twenty years of experience in UX research and design. She teaches user research, usability testing, interaction design, document design, and technical writing. She has published in Technical Communication, IEEE Transactions on Professional Communication, International Journal of Sociotechnology and Knowledge Development, and Programmatic Perspectives. She is co-editor of Amplifying Voices in UX, an edited collection with SUNY Press. Her research focuses on the intersections of user centered design (UCD), ethics, social issues, and technology use.
Sheryl Ruszkiewicz is Special Lecturer in the Department of Writing and Rhetoric at Oakland University. She has co-authored two books on technical communication and content strategy. Her research is focused on content strategy, user experience (UX), community engagement, and inclusive pedagogy.
