50 Vivas in Oral Surgery is a comprehensive viva-style textbook offering 50 real-life clinical scenarios, designed to facilitate preparation for relevant examinations. The book will appeal to students, specialty registrars and clinicians with an interest in Oral Surgery, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery or Oral Medicine. Each illustrated viva presents a clinical scenario with history and investigations, followed by a series of questions exploring differential diagnoses, treatment planning and management of complex medical conditions. It encourages readers to critically think whilst testing knowledge, understanding and simultaneously affording an opportunity to answer in a structured exam-style format. The detailed answers are evidenced based, signposting readers to seminal literature from which they can springboard their personal revision. Uniquely, in addition to the clinical focus, this book addresses a number of key non-clinical subjects, including complaints, safeguarding, whistleblowing, consent, legislation, medico-legal considerations and human factors.

With contributions from leading UK and International specialists, all cases have been peer reviewed by Consultants in the specialty, making this book a must-have revision aid for those preparing for specialty exams, board certifications, or seeking to improve their knowledge in the specialty of Oral Surgery.
