Law in a World of Multiple Legal Orders is an accessible introduction to law for students and general readers worldwide. It offers a foundational understanding of what law is and how it operates, while acknowledging that contemporary law is unavoidably cross-border.

Jean-Yves Gontier is a French-Canadian lawyer at the Paris Bar and a legal scholar with extensive experience in transnational practice and legal education. He holds a PhD in law and has taught law at Sciences Po Paris, where he served as Academic Coordinator and Head of Law at the Undergraduate College and oversaw Dual BA programs with leading French and U.S. universities.
