Andrzej Grzybowski, M.D., Ph.D., MBA, MAE, EVERf is a Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Warmia and Mazury, Olsztyn, Poland and Head of the Institute for Research in Ophthalmology, Foundation for Ophthalmology Development in Poznan, Poland. He is active in international scientific societies including European Vision & Eye Research Association (Past President, presently chair of EVER Leadership Development Committee), Euretina (Co-opted Board member 2016-2018), ISRS (member of the ISRS International Council), International Intraocular Implant Club and Cogan Society. He is a lifelong member (chair LIV) of the European Academy of Ophthalmology and its Vice-President, and a member of the Academia Europea. According to Expertscape worldwide ranking: No 1 in cataract field and No 1 in cataract extraction field; No 3 in endophthalmitis field. In 2021, he received ISRS (International Society for Refractive Surgery) Founders’ Award. In 2022 he was awarded OFFICERS' CROSS OF THE ORDER OF POLONIA RESTITUTA for outstanding achievements in research and teaching, and support for international scientific cooperation by the President of Poland; listed on the “The Power List” by The Ophthalmologist magazine, a ranking of the Top 100 most influential people in the world of ophthalmology. Xiangjia Zhu, M.D., Ph.D., is a distinguished Professor and Senior Consultant at the Eye & ENT Hospital of Fudan University in Shanghai, where she serves as Head of Cataract and Refractive Lens Surgery and Vice Dean of the Eye Research Institute. She is also Deputy Leader of the Cataract Quality Control Group of the National Eye Healthcare Quality Management Center (under establishment) and a committee member of the Cataract and Refractive Surgery Group of the Chinese Ophthalmological Society. A clinician-scientist of international acclaim, she specializes in refractive cataract surgery and complex cataracts, performing over 2,000 procedures annually. As an NSFC Excellent Young Scientist, she pioneered AI-based IOL formulas and intelligent surgical systems—tools now incorporated into guidelines and authoritative textbooks. She spearheaded the first global consensus on highly myopic cataract. She has published over 160 papers in journals including Nat Commun, Adv Sci, Cell Discov, Asia-Pac J Ophthalmol, Am J Ophthalmol, and Br J Ophthalmol. Her accolades include the NFER Cataract Research Award—the highest international honor in the field, making her the first Mainland China-based recipient—alongside the APACRS Certified Educator Award and Silver Award of Film Festival, and First Prize of Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award, among others. She is ranked 10th globally among over 35,000 cataract experts by Expertscape and named among the top 2% of the world's most influential scientists.
