Multi-Purpose Utility Tunnels: A Viable Solution for Sustainable, Resilient, and Smart Cities thoroughly covers the planning process, design necessities, construction, operations, and management for MUTs, highlighting efficient decision-making strategies that are essential throughout the entire lifecycle. To benefit readers, the contents have been subdivided into sections, proffering a logically structured flow aimed at quickly getting them up-to-speed or providing them with answers to questions. The authors also touch upon cost-specific facets and regulatory frameworks to conclude this timely investigation, with a review of utilidor projects from across the globe that discuss challenges, lessons learned, and other details of practical value.

The volume’s up-to-date knowledge, which offers a sought-after overview of this not-yet-fully appreciated solution for subsurface infrastructure organization and its critical advantages in keeping with present-day concerns linked with the sustainability, resilience, and smartness of the built environment is a must for anyone interested in multi-purpose utility tunnels.
