This book introduces the construction and running situation of China's BeiDou Navigation Satellite System (BDS), reviews the development history of BDS construction and operating principle, and mainly reflects the BDS construction and application of the latest achievements. And this book systematically introduces the basic theories and methods of BeiDou satellite navigation and positioning, including the BeiDou time system, coordinate system, satellite orbit, BeiDou signal structure, Principle of BeiDou receiver, basic algorithm of BeiDou navigation, and positioning. The advantages and features of BeiDou system are provided within the book, and it shows detailed differences from other navigation satellite systems, especially in precision single-point positioning and short message communication. Besides, this book also discusses the method of BeiDou integrated positioning with other GNSS (such as GPS, Galileo), and expounds the high-precision improvement experience brought by multiple GNSS to users. It takes the navigation and positioning of BeiDou in intelligent mobile terminal as an example to illustrate the application method of BeiDou in mass consumption, which is the field with the largest number of users.

Über Autor(innen)

Wende Huang is a special researcher at the Beijing Institute of Technology. He holds a Ph.D. from the National University of Defense Technology and the Shanghai Observatory of the Chinese Academy of Sciences postdoctoral fellow. He now is also the director of BeiDou Open Laboratory in China-ASEAN (Nanning) Region. He has been engaged in the research of satellite navigation system and spacecraft orbital dynamics for more than 10 years. And he has presided over or participated in more than 20 national projects such as the national key science and technology projects of China's second-generation satellite navigation system and more than 10 provincial and ministerial projects. Huang has been funded by China's postdoctoral science foundation (first-class). Moreover, he has published more than 50 high-level academic papers, published 3 academic monographs in the field of BeiDou, compiled 2 BeiDou textbooks, applied for more than 10 national invention patents, and 8 authorized.
