Jenkins, Rowena
Rowena Jenkins, PhD, is currently a medical writer at Health Economics and Outcomes Research Ltd, UK. Prior to this she served as lecturer in Microbiology and Infectious Disease in the College of Medicine at Swansea University, UK. Her research team are focused on the effect of novel antimicrobial agents on pathogenic bacteria found in clinical infections, particularly chronic infections such as those seen in diabetic foot ulcers and cystic fibrosis lungs infection, and the impact on the microbiome within those conditions. Dr. Jenkins also has an interest in the potential for natural antimicrobial agents to improve the efficacy of conventional antibiotics against antibiotic resistant bacteria and biofilms. Dr. Jenkins serves as a section editor for the Journal of Medical Microbiology, and has co-authored two books with Elsevier, including the first edition of "Understanding PCR".

Parker, Josie
Josie Parker, PhD, is a lecturer in Biochemistry at Cardiff University, UK. Her research focuses on cytochrome P450 enzymes which are the targets of inhibitors such as antifungal and chemotherapy agents and have capabilities that can be harvested for biotechnology. She studies the physiological function of these enzymes in various microorganisms and their targeting as potential drug targets. Her research has led to discoveries in antifungal resistance and the treatment of fungal infections in both medicine and agriculture. Dr. Parker has contributed to almost 70 publications, is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and an STEM Ambassador.
