K.P. Kannan, development economist, is a former Director and currently an Honorary Fellow of the Centre for Development Studies, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala State, India. Professor Kannan worked in several capacities on national and international assignments including as a Member of India’s erstwhile National Commission for Enterprises in the Unorganised Sector. He has authored a number of books and research papers including Interrogating Inclusive Growth: Poverty and Inequality in India, published by Routledge in 2014.
