1. Why did you choose this topic?

We wrote this book to foster a new understanding of knowledge within the fields of artistic and design research, and art education. The strategic development of these disciplines suggests they offer innovative modes of knowledge that emphasize a reciprocal relationship between theory and practice. Our goal is to make teaching approaches more accessible and to discuss the transfer of PhD research in arts and design into public knowledge. By sharing diverse perspectives and methodologies, we hope to create a community of researchers who care for their artistic methodologies and subjects, embracing inclusion and interdisciplinary. This book is an invitation to engage with the dynamic and diverse landscape of art and design pedagogy.

The book offers new perspectives by emphasizing the reciprocal relationship between theory and practice in artistic and design-based research, the transfer of academic research into teaching, and fostering an inclusive research community.
