It covers documentation, system modeling, simulation and evaluation, controller design and implementation as well as remote monitoring and control leading to e- Automation. The control task is focusing on controlling the water level, using the modern high performance SIEMENS SIMATIC S7-300 PLC and the world's leading Wonderware FactorySuite InTouch interactive HMI for visualization to realize fully digital PID closed-loop feedback control. The proposed solution can be also applied to control other system variables as needed. Real-time remote monitoring and control via internet and GSM network are also introduced. These technologies enable operators to interact with an entire operation of their production processes worldwide. A big step towards conceptive e-Automation has been carried out in this work. The e-Automation is hopefully defined as managing process online.
