Bridging radar remote sensing, channel modeling, and weather observation, this book gives readers a unified understanding of how electromagnetic propagation governs both channels and atmospheric sensing. It highlights the concepts and tools that matter most in practice - wave propagation in media, scattering, antennas and link budgets, large- and small-scale channel models, radar equations, Doppler processing, and polarimetric weather radar - so that readers can move confidently across topics that are usually taught separately. A key strength of the book is its layered, didactic presentation: core material is clearly distinguished from advanced sections, notation and terminology remain consistent throughout, and the exposition is reinforced with illustrations, tables, worked examples, and cross-links between communication and radar viewpoints. Written by a team that includes professors and PhD students, the book is shaped not only by scholarly expertise but also by close awareness of how students learn, making the content more accessible, readable, and easier to understand from a student-centered perspective. Readers will gain both physical intuition and system-level insight, enabling them to analyze microwave propagation problems more coherently and apply the same principles across RF engineering, sensing, and atmospheric applications. The primary readership is senior undergraduate and graduate students in microwave engineering, wireless communications, radar remote sensing, and atmospheric or weather meteorology.
