JOHN MATTHIAS is professor emeritus of English at the University of Notre Dame. His most recent collection of poems is Kedging (2007). WILLIAM O'ROURKE is professor of English at the University of Notre Dame and former director of the creative writing program. His most recent book is On Having a Heart Attack: A Medical Memoir (University of Notre Dame Press, 2006).
