Jim Nielson, FAIA, is an Adjunct Professor at Utah Valley University, where he developed the professional practice course for the new Bachelor of Architecture program, which is currently seeking NAAB accreditation. With over 30 years of experience, he has served as a principal architect in leading Salt Lake City firms, contributing to diverse projects throughout much of the country. A former Utah state representative, Nielson's work extends to public policy, real estate development and consulting, membership on his state architect licensing board, and service as an expert witness on more than 40 cases. He has written for the Salt Lake Tribune and Deseret News. His public policy contributions have been featured in Business Week.
