Chen Pan
was born in Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province, China, in 1994. He has studied at the City University of Macau, China, where he completed his bachelor's, master's, and doctoral studies. He received his PhD in Urban Planning and Design from the City University of Macau, China. Now, Dr. Pan is an associate professor and a full-time faculty member in the Design Department at Guangdong University of Petrochemical Technology. Dr. Pan has published more than 10 academic papers in SCI and SSCI-indexed journals. He has participated in several national, provincial, and ministerial research projects and has guided students to win numerous awards. Dr. Pan's research interests include urban planning and design, urban vitality, community building environment, and sustainable human settlements design.
Haibo Li
was born in Zouping, Shandong Province, China, in 1982. He has studied at Nanjing Forestry University and City University of Macau, in China. He received his PhD in Urban Planning and Design from the City University of Macau, China. Now, Dr. Li is an associate professor and the head of the Design Department at Guangdong University of Petrochemical Technology. Dr. Li has published more than 30 academic papers in academic journals and one monograph. Dr. Li has participated in several national, provincial and ministerial projects. He has guided students to win many awards, such as the IAI Design Award, China Habitat Design Annual Award, Asian Design Annual Award, and so forth. Dr. Li's research interests include healthy urban planning and design, spatial form and Vitality, community building environment, sustainable human settlements design.
Guoqiang Shen
is an endowed full professor at Zhejiang University. He was on faculty at the University of Texas, the University of Oklahoma, East Carolina University, and Beijing University of Architecture, in areas of Architecture, Urban Planning, Public Affairs. Dr. Shen has broad research interests and creative activities in transportation planning, urban design and physical planning. Dr. Shen has published 100+ peer-reviewed articles with multiple grants totaling about $25.0 million. Dr. Shen has participated in over 30 international, national, local competition or privately-sponsored projects ranging from small-scale architecture and landscape architecture design projects. Quite a few of Dr. Shen's planning and design projects won national or international competitions.
Bing Wang
is Faculty Co-Lead of Asia Lab and a Senior Lecturer at the MIT Sloan School of Management, and Faculty Co-Director of the MIT-China Program. Prior to joining MIT, she was Associate Professor in Practice of Real Estate and the Built Environment at Harvard University, where she was Faculty Head of the master’s concentration in real estate at Harvard for more than a decade.Wang’s research focuses on urban innovation, real estate investment, design thinking, and value creation, with particular emphasis on emerging markets. She has authored and edited five books and published more than 40 book chapters, peer-reviewed papers, and articles. She received grants respectively from the National Science Foundation in the United States and the National Natural Science Foundation of China.Dr. Wang has collaborated with governments, developers, and international institutions, including the World Bank and the International Finance Corporation. Through her research and professional practice, she has contributed to the master planning of 980 acres of land, the design of 6.7 million square feet of space, and the investment and management of more than US$1.1 billion in urban assets and real estate transactions. She has also served as visiting faculty at the University of Cambridge and Ulster University in the United Kingdom.
