This book draws together recent significant advances in all areas of applied mechanics. It aims to publish high quality peer-reviewed papers in the field of aerospace, solid mechanics, mechanics of structures, fluid mechanics, Biomechanics, Micro and Nano Mechanics and few to mention. These papers are selected from papers presented in 6th Indian Conference on Applied Mechanics (INCAM-2024). This is the sixth series of conference by Indian Society for Applied Mechanics (ISAM). The primary interest to provide a common platform to scientists and engineers working in the various branches of applied mechanics. The papers are mostly from IITs, IISc, and NITs of India. The papers are going to be peer-reviewed by independent reviewers. These papers are recommended and appreciated by conference committee. INCAM conferences are mainly organized by reputed institution of the country and publishing very high quality of research work. INCAM 2013, INCAM 2015, INCAM 2017, INCAM 2019, INCAM 2022 held at IIT Madras, IIT Delhi, MNNIT Allahabad, IISc Bangalore, and NIT Jamshedpur, respectively.

Dr. Ajey Kumar Patel is currently an associate professor at Department of Civil Engineering, National Institute of Technology, Warangal. He obtained his B.Tech. (Civil Engineering) from Harcourt Butler Technological Institute (HBTI), Kanpur; M.Tech. (Environmental Engineering) from Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, Roorkee; Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, Bangalore. Ajey Kumar Patel is an environmental engineer with expertise in modelling surface aeration system including both experimental and CFD models, urban flood modelling, water hammer analysis and water distribution network analysis. He has published over 40 papers in various peer reviewed journals and international conferences.

Dr. Tadepalli Phanirama Tezeswi is currently an Associate professor at National Institute of Technology (NIT) Warangal, India. He obtained B.Tech. from Karnataka University, and M.S. and Ph.D. from University of Mississipi, USA. He has a background in structural engineering and mechanics. His areas of expertise include structural dynamics, nonlinear finite element analysis, composite materials, vibration testing, photo elastic testing, high strain rate SHPB testing, shock testing, multi-scale modeling, micro-mechanics and non-destructive evaluation. He works in the area of experimental characterization and analytical modeling of materials, and structure response to shock and high strain rate loading. He has publications in various journals, holds a US patent and has an EIT certification from Michigan. He is a reviewer for several international journals. He is a member of ASME, ASCE, ASC, APS, and Chi Epsilon Honor Society.

Dr. -Ing. Srihari is currently an assistant professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) Varanasi. He obtained his B.Tech. (Mechanical Engineering) from Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati, M.Tech. (Applied Mechanics) from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, and a Ph.D. from the Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg, Germany. He has worked at Loughborough University, UK, and Tel Aviv University, Israel as a research assistant and postdoctoral researcher, where his main responsibility was developing material models for the polycrystalline-machining process and the micromechanical-based formulation. His major areas of research interest include multiscale material modeling, crystal plasticity, computational mechanics, FEM-based modeling and simulations, micromechanics formulation, composites—fabrication, characterization, and testing. He has published 22 papers in respected international journals.

Dr. Ashish Pandey is currently working as a simulation engineer in automotive domain at ZF India Pvt Ltd, Hyderabad. He holds a Ph.D. in Applied Mechanics from IIT Madras, with his research focusing on Sports Impact Mechanics. He completed his M.Tech. from MNNIT Allahabad and his B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from Graphic Era University, Dehradun. His research work delves into the mechanical dynamics of sports-related impacts, design of better sports equipment contributing valuable insights to the field.
