Dr. Gaurav Prashar is currently working as a Professor and HOD of Mechanical Engineering at Rayat Bahra Institute of Engineering and Nano Technology, Hoshiarpur. He has published 18 SCI-indexed papers, two Scopus-indexed papers, 13 book chapters, and seven international conference papers. He is currently working on the development of Nano-structured Bimodal alloys coatings for high-temperature oxidation and erosion resistance. He has obtained his Ph.D. degree from Lovely Professional University (LPU) in Phagwara (NACC A++, NIRF: 50), India. He has also worked on the post-processing of thermal spray coatings. He has contributed extensively to thermal spray coatings in reputed journals, which include publications in Surface and Coatings Technology, Journal of Thermal Spray Technology, Engineering Failure Analysis, Surface Topography: Metrology and Properties, Journal of Cleaner Production, and Applied Surface Science Advances. He is serving as a reviewer for internationally reputed journals like Advances in Materials and Processing Technologies, International Journal on Interactive Design and Manufacturing, Results in Surfaces and Interfaces, Surface Review & Letters, Materials Today: Proceedings, and Robotics and Autonomous Systems. He has authored more than 40 research publications in various international journals, books, and conferences of repute. He has a teaching experience of more than 16 years. He has also published one self-authored book named Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in Thermal Spray Industry: Practices, Implementation, and Challenges (2023; CRC Press – Taylor & Francis).

Prof. (Dr.) Hitesh Vasudev, Ph.D., is working as a Professor in the School of Mechanical Engineering, Lovely Professional University, Phagwara, Punjab, India. He has received his Ph.D. degree from Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College, Ludhiana, India, in 2018 under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Harmeet Singh, GNDEC, Ludhiana and Dr. Lalit Thakur, NIT, Kurukshetra. He was listed in the World’s Top 2% Scientists published by Stanford University and Elsevier in 2023 and 2024. His research areas include surface engineering/ thermal spraying (high-elocity oxy-uel spraying, flame spray, cold spray, plasma spray, and microwave claddings). Currently, he is working on the development of Nano-tructured Multi-odal High-ntropy alloys coatings for high-emperature oxidation and corrosion resistance-hermal Barrier Coatings (TBCs) and Microwave processing of materials. He has guided four Ph.D. scholars and is currently supervising four more in the area of Surface Engineering. He has contributed extensively to thermal spray coatings in reputed journals, which include Surface Coatings and Technology, Materials Today Communications, Engineering Failure Analysis, Journal of Cleaner Production, Surface Topography: Metrology and Properties, Journal of Failure Prevention and Control, International Journal of Surface Engineering, and Interdisciplinary Materials Science under the flagship of various publication groups such as Elsevier, Taylor & Francis, Springer Nature, IGI Global, and In-Tech Open. Moreover, he is a dedicated reviewer for reputed journals such as Surface Coatings and Technology, Journal of Thermal Spray and Technology, Ceramics International, Journal of Material Engineering Performance, Engineering Failure Analysis, Surface Topography: Metrology and Properties, Materials Research Express, Engineering Research Express, and IGI Global Journals. He received the “Top Cited Paper Awards India 2022” from IOP Publishing, United Kingdom, in the Review Category. He received the Lovely Professional University’s Research Excellence Award in 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2023. His research contributions include more than 30 SCI-indexed papers, more than 10 Scopus-indexed papers, 15 conference papers, four books, and 18 book chapters. He has filed one patent titled “High-emperature Oxidation and Erosion Resistant Alloy-18/Al2O3 Composite Coatings”. He has organized both national and international conferences. He has received seed money for a project titled “Fabrication of Coatings for Bio-edical Applications” (Project Number: LPU/DRD/SEED/SAC/140222/24804) from Lovely Professional University, India. He has also received a grant from the Scientific Engineering and Research Board (SERB), New Delhi, Government of India, to conduct a conference in 2023.

Dr. Lalit Thakur is working as Assistant Professor, Grade-1 in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the National Institute of Technology Kurukshetra, India. He has obtained his M.Tech. and Ph.D. degrees from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee, India. For the past 13 years, he has been continuously exploring new possibilities in the fields of Welding Engineering and Thermal Spray Technology. His current research areas include thermal spray coatings and tungsten inert-gas (TIG) weld claddings for wear, corrosion, biomedical applications, ferromagnetic lubricants, advanced composite development by powder metallurgy, stir casting, and friction stir processing. He has authored more than 60 research articles in various international journals (SCI/Scopus), conferences, and edited books published by reputed publishers such as Applied Surface Science, Surface and Coatings Technology, Surface Engineering, Surface Topography, Tribology Transactions, Wear, JMEP, JMST, Materials Today Communications, Engineering Failure Analysis, Materials Research Express, Surface Review & Letters, CRC Press, Springer Nature, and IntechOpen. Moreover, he is a reviewer of most of the reputed journals related to Materials Science, Surface Engineering, and Coatings Technology. He has recently published a book titled Thermal Spray Coatings under CRC Press, Taylor & Francis Group. He is also a life member of the Institution of Engineers India (IEI) and the Indian Structural Integrity Society (INSIS). He has published two patents in the fields of thermal spray coatings and friction stir processing. He has also guided many M.Tech. and Ph.D. scholars in emerging areas of Thermal Spraying, Advanced Manufacturing, and Welding Technology.
