Chiara Rambaldi is a researcher at the University of Sheffield, UK, specialising in global health policy, palliative care, and access to essential medicines. Her research focuses on the barriers to equitable access to controlled medicines for pain relief and palliative care, with particular attention to the role of international drug control policies in shaping healthcare outcomes. Drawing on health policy, post-colonial theory, and international governance, her work examines how global regulatory frameworks influence access to essential medicines across different regions of the world. She has conducted extensive archival research on the history and evolution of international drug control treaties and has contributed to academic and policy discussions on palliative care, health equity, and access to medicines.
