Über Autor(innen)

The Author: Dominique Rolin was born in 1913 in Brussels where she studied art. She began her career as a novelist in 1942 and settled in Paris in 1946. In 1952 she won the Prix Femina for Le Souffle. Since then she has received many honors and prizes and has published more than forty novels.
The Translator: Elaine L. Corts received her doctorate in comparative literature from Binghamton University, State University of New York, where she is currently Research Associate. She has translated several poems of the French-American Symbolist poet, Stuart Merrill, several short stories of Colette, and H by Philippe Sollers.
