This book offers a comprehensive insight into how Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming the landscape of technical textiles, encompassing intelligent materials, digital manufacturing, sustainability, and smart supply chains. It serves as a forward-thinking guide for researchers, practitioners, and innovators working at the intersection of textiles, AI, and sustainability. Bringing together interdisciplinary expertise, AI-Driven Technical Textiles: Innovations and Future Prospects From Smart Materials to Sustainable Solutions explores the evolving role of AI in high-performance and functional textiles. Through 15 rigorously curated chapters, thisbook covers cutting-edge developments in AI-powered material science, digital twin simulations, smart healthcare fabrics, protective clothing, sustainable fibers, and blockchain-integrated textile ecosystems. The first section introduces core AI concepts, machine learning applications, and digital simulations that shape the next generation of smart textiles. It lays the groundwork for understanding how data science tools are integrated into the textile design, development, and validation process. The second section offers domain-specific applications, ranging from medical, defense, automotive, and aerospace textiles to agrotech and sportswear, demonstrating how AI enhances performance, adaptability, and functionality. In the third section, thisbook explores AI-driven innovations in textile manufacturing, testing, and market intelligence. It highlights automation in production, predictive quality control, and data-enabled supply chains, contributing to efficiency and scalability. The final section examines future pathways, ethical challenges, and policy implications, offering a strategic outlook on the convergence of AI, IoT, and blockchain for traceable and responsible textile solutions. This timely volume addresses a critical gap in current literature by combining academic research, industrial applications, and global perspectives in one unified resource. It empowers textile technologists, AI researchers, sustainability scholars, design engineers, and R&D professionals to understand and lead the digital evolution of technical textiles.
