da Silva, Silvio Silvério
Silvio Silvério da Silva is a Full Professor in the Department of Biotechnology, Lorena School of Engineering (EEL), at the University of São Paulo (USP), in Brazil. He was previously Director of the EEL (2020-24) and Head of the Department of Biotechnology for two terms (2015 to 2019). Prof. Silvério da Silva was included in the 2% Most Influential Scientists in the World ranking in the area of Biotechnology (2020-22), by Elsevier / University of Stanford. He has published 256 articles in mostly international journals, with over 7,400 citations (Scopus), 790 papers at conferences and events, and 68 book chapters, and has 5 granted patents. He has edited 6 books and was chief guest editor of the Journal of Biomedicine and Biotechnology and the Sustainable Fermentation Technology Journal. He is Coordinator of the Bioprocesses and Sustainable Products Laboratories at EEL-USP, working on lignocellulose fermentation to biobased products, and has scientific collaboration partnerships with institutions nationally and internationally.

Santos, Julio C.
Dr. Júlio C. Santos is an Associate Professor in the Lorena School of Engineering (EEL), University of São Paulo, Brazil. A chemical engineer with PhD in Industrial Biotechnology, he has published approx. 140 articles in peer-reviewed journals. His research work has been performed in partnership with professionals from different countries, including Brazil, India, South Korea, Mexico and Denmark, and he is on the editorial board of the journals MethodsX, Advances in Polymer Technology and Brazilian Journal of Microbiology. Dr. Santos has worked in the field of sustainable processes, focusing on renewable biomass and working on topics such as bioreactors, biorefineries, lignocellulosic biomass, biopolymers, biopigments, ethanol, biodiesel, process simulation, enzymes, and immobilized cells.

de Carvalho Santos Ebinuma, Valéria
Dr. Valéria de Carvalho Santos Ebinuma is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Bioprocess Engineering and Biotechnology at the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Universidade Estadual Paulista - UNESP, Araraquara, SP, Brazil, since 2013. She completed her PhD in Sciences at the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of São Paulo, in 2013. Her research focuses on the production of biomolecules, including colorants, biopharmaceuticals, and enzymes, by microorganisms using alternative substrates, and she is also dedicated to developing sustainable approaches for the purification of these biomolecules. Her research work has been performed in partnership with professionals from different countries, including Brazil, Portugal, Slovenia, United Kingdom, Canada, Greece, and the United States, and in recent years these collaborations have led to participation in several research projects related to production and purification platforms. Dr. de Carvalho Santos Ebinuma has published more than 100 research publications in reputable international journals.

Ingle, Avinash P.
Dr. Avinash P. Ingle is currently working as a Research Scientist (Ramanujan Fellow) at the Biotechnology Centre, Department of Agricultural Botany, at Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Agricultural University, in Maharashtra, India. He completed his doctoral degree at SGB Amravati University, working as a Research Scientist at the same institution from 2013 to 2016, before being awarded a Postdoctoral Fellowship (FAPESP) at the Department of Biotechnology, Engineering School of Lorena, University of Sao Paulo, Brazil, for three years. Dr. Ingle has edited several books with various international publishers, 65 book chapters, and over 90 research publications in international, peer-reviewed journals. His research interests include nanobiotechnology, biofuel technology, and sustainable agriculture.
