This supplement issue features the talks given during the International Falk Workshop on Complications of Liver Cirrhosis, held in Bonn, February 27-28, 1998. The topics presented focus on the pathophysiology and treatment of portal hypertension, gastrointestinal bleeding and hepatorenal syndrome.
