Archbishop and Professor Thomas Paul Schirrmacher has been Secretary General of the World Evangelical Alliance (WEA) 2021-2024. Before he served WEA in various leadership roles over the last two decades, especially as Associate Secretary General for Theological Concerns and in advocacy for persecuted and discriminated Christians. He has been teaching theology on several continents. He sees his theology best represented in his books “Koran and Bible” and “Leadership and Ethical Responsibility”. Schirrmacher has earned four doctorates — in ecumenical theology, cultural anthropology, ethics, and sociology of religion.
