Dr. Uday Shanker Dixit is currently a HAG (Higher Administrative Grade) Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IIT Guwahati). He obtained his Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur in 1998, following his M.Tech in 1993 from the same institution. Dr. Dixit completed his B.E. in mechanical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee (erstwhile University of Roorkee) in 1987. Dr. Dixit's research interests are extensive and include plasticity, metal forming, laser-based manufacturing, finite element modeling, and optimization. He has made substantial contributions to his field with 115 journal publications and 110 conference papers. In addition to his research and teaching responsibilities, Dr. Dixit has held several editorial roles. He is an Associate Editor for the International Journal of Manufacturing, Materials, and Mechanical Engineering, and has served on the editorial boards of the Journal of Machining and Forming Technologies, International Journal of Mechatronics and Manufacturing Systems, and Mechanics of Advanced Materials and Modern Processes. He is also an Executive Council Member of Assam Science and Technology University since July 2014 and has been an Associate Editor of the Journal of Institution of Engineers (India), Series C since 2013.
Dr. Prabhu Raja is currently a Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore, a position he has held since 2019. He joined the institute as an Assistant Professor in 1997. Dr. Prabhu Raja obtained his BE from the Government College of Technology, Coimbatore, India, in 1992, and both his ME and Ph.D. from PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore, India. His major areas of interest include engineering design, thermo-mechanical modeling, finite element analysis, structural integrity analysis, high-speed machining, and additive manufacturing. He has published numerous research articles in top-ranking journals in fatigue life prediction and experimental and numerical validation of techniques to improve the operation of various machining processes. Dr. Prabhu Raja also holds a national patent for the synergistic composition of a casting machine tool structure and its methods.
Dr. Dinesh Setti is an Associate Professor and currently the Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Palakkad. Dr. Setti obtained his Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi in 2016 and his MTech in manufacturing technology from the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Calicut in 2011. His academic journey also includes a post-doctoral research fellowship at Rheinland-Pfälzische Technische Universität, Germany, where he gained expertise in micro-grinding processes. Before his current position at IIT Palakkad, Dr. Setti was an Assistant Professor at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Warangal. His academic and research roles have consistently focused on the abrasive finishing processes. Dr. Setti's primary research interests are in grinding and advanced finishing processes. His work delves into the mechanics, physics, and mathematics underlying these processes. Dr. Setti has made substantial contributions to the field through peer-reviewed journal articles and conference papers. He is a member of professional organizations, including the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME). Dr. Setti was recognized as an Outstanding Reviewer for 2025 for the Journal of Manufacturing Letters, awarded by the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME), USA, in recognition of his contributions to the peer-review process.
