This book highlights quantum materials and their applications in spintronic and sensing technologies. It delves into key material classes, including topological insulators, Weyl and Dirac materials, two-dimensional van der Waals magnets, and non-collinear antiferromagnets among others. These systems are explored through the lens of their unique quantum properties, such as robust spin-momentum locking, spin-orbit coupling, topologically protected surface states, high magnetoresistance, and manipulation of quantum metrics. By integrating quantum phenomena such as spin waves, nontrivial superconductivity, nonlinear transport, tunneling effects, and symmetry-driven topological states, spintronic devices based on these materials promise transformative advantages: ultrafast switching, wideband operation, higher data densities, and energy-efficient operation.

Dr. Raghav Sharma is a faculty member in the Department of Electrical Engineering at IIT Ropar. He obtained his Ph.D. in Physics from IIT Delhi, specializing in spintronics. In 2018, he joined the National University of Singapore as a postdoctoral fellow, where he worked on developing next-generation devices for advanced applications such as energy harvesting, fast switching, broadband mm-wave rectifiers, and neuromorphic computing using spintronic and topological quantum materials. His current research focuses on spintronic and nonlinear topological quantum devices for next-generation technologies.

Dr. Dushyant Kumar is currently working as an assistant professor in the Department of Physics at IIT Jodhpur, India. After earning his Ph.D. in Physics from IIT Kanpur, he advanced his research as a postdoctoral fellow at the Spin and Energy Lab (SEL) at the National University of Singapore (NUS). His work focuses on the fundamental physics of 2D topological materials and their cutting-edge applications in spintronics, energy harvesting, and quantum technologies.

Dr. Akash Kumar is a cross-appointed assistant professor and researcher at Tohoku University, Japan, and the University of Gothenburg, Sweden. He received his Ph.D. in Physics from IIT Delhi, specializing in spintronics. In the same year, he joined the University of Gothenburg as a postdoctoral fellow, where he is now a permanent senior researcher. His current research focuses on the growth and integration of quantum materials into spintronic devices, as well as the mutual synchronization of spintronic oscillators.
