The successful cultivation, conservation, and utilization of medicinal and aromatic plants depend fundamentally on the availability of high-quality seeds. This volume provides a comprehensive examination of the principles, technologies, and practices required to produce, preserve, evaluate, and market quality seed resources for valuable plant species.

Beginning with the fundamentals of seed storage and longevity, the volume explores methods for maintaining seed quality throughout production, processing, and storage. Chapters address organic approaches to seed production, detection of volatile organic compounds emitted by seeds, metabolic changes during germination, seed enhancement technologies, safe storage systems, synthetic seed development, and modern seed packaging practices. The book also examines techniques for identifying and managing seed-borne fungi, bacteria, and viruses that affect seed health and viability.

In addition, the volume highlights strategies for conserving endangered ethnomedicinal plant species and discusses biotechnological interventions that support sustainable seed production and long-term genetic resource conservation. Combining scientific research with practical applications, the book offers valuable insights into both traditional and emerging approaches in seed science.
