Agriculture stands at a critical turning point. Traditional farming methods alone are no longer sufficient to meet growing demands while conserving natural resources. As global food demand rises and climate change intensifies, this new volume addresses how smart, data-driven solutions can improve productivity while promoting sustainability, resilience, and environmental stewardship.

This volume examines how emerging technologies—including artificial intelligence, sensor-based precision agriculture, big data analytics, the agricultural Internet of Things, and vertical farming—are revolutionizing crop production and farm management. These advances enable farmers to collect, analyze, and apply real-time data for more informed decision-making, improving efficiency, reducing costs, and enhancing sustainability.

The book also highlights regenerative agriculture as a practical strategy for restoring soil health, increasing biodiversity, and strengthening climate resilience. Additional chapters address water conservation, nutrient-use efficiency, postharvest loss reduction in regions such as India and Africa, and the environmental impacts of agricultural production together with effective mitigation measures. By integrating scientific innovation with sustainable farming practices, the volume presents a comprehensive perspective on the future of agriculture.

Combining current research with practical applications to provide valuable insights into smart agricultural systems and sustainable crop improvement, this volume is a useful resource for advancing resilient and environmentally responsible agricultural production.
