Dr. Vivek Kumar Singh is a Professor in the Department of Physics at the University of Lucknow, India, with extensive experience in spectroscopy and its diverse scientific applications. His research expertise encompasses X-ray spectrometry, laser-based techniques, and advanced spectroscopic methodologies, including XRF, LIBS, TOF-SIMS, UV–Visible, and FTIR spectroscopy. He has made significant contributions to the spectroscopic characterization of a wide range of biological, environmental, agricultural, medicinal-plant, and food samples. His research has particularly addressed the analysis of biological specimens such as gallstones, kidney stones, teeth, bones, and plant materials. His current research interests focus on the development and application of multi-spectroscopic approaches for the characterization and quality assessment of biological, organic, agricultural, environmental, and food materials. A major thrust of his research is the detection, characterization, and quantification of trace and heavy metals in biological samples, medicinal plants, and food products. Dr. Singh has published more than 100 research papers and review articles in reputed international journals, contributing substantially to the advancement of spectroscopic research. He has also authored numerous book chapters and edited scholarly books published by leading international publishers . He is a recipient of the prestigious Raman Fellowship awarded by the University Grants Commission (UGC), Government of India, for postdoctoral research at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL), USA. He has collaborated with and visited several renowned universities and research institutions in the USA and has delivered invited lectures and scientific presentations at international conferences in the USA and China.
