Über Autor(innen)

Prof. (Dr.) Shalini Sinha is currently Dean of the Faculty of Planning at CEPT University and Head of the Center of Excellence in Urban Transport at CEPT Research and Development Foundation, Ahmedabad. She holds a PhD in Transport Planning from CEPT University and a Master’s degree in Transport Planning and Engineering from the University of Leeds, UK. With more than 25 years of experience, her work bridges research and practice. She has engaged extensively with city and state governments in the areas of strategic transport planning and policy, public transport including bus and BRT system planning, operations and monitoring and electric mobility. She has also contributed to various national, state, and city-level transportation committees. Her recent research focuses on transport system assessments using smart data, user behavior analysis and transport planning frameworks. She has authored several research papers, policy and practice documents on sustainable transport planning, public transport service quality and operations, and multimodal integration.

Mr. M. L. Chotani is currently working as a Consultant and Research Development Officer (RDO) at Institute of Urban Transport (India). He holds a Master’s degree in City and Regional Planning from School of Planning, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar (1975) and a Post Graduate Diploma in Urban Survey and Human Settlement Analysis from International Institute of Aerospace and Earth Science (ITC) Enschede, Netherlands (1987). He was superannuated from the post of Additional Chief Planner in August 2009 from Town and Country Planning Organisation, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Govt. of India. With nearly 50 years of experience, he has contributed extensively to urban planning, urban transport, project appraisal, evaluation and monitoring, capacity building and teaching. He has vast experience in preparing Master Plan, Regional Plans, District Plans, Comprehensive Mobility Plan Toolkit and evaluation of urban transport projects. For the past 12 years, he has significantly contributed to the Urban Mobility India (UMI) Conference & Expo by managing the Research Symposium and supporting the preparation of conference proceedings.
