Digitalization of Mechanical Systems: Piping, Valves, and Actuators in Energy Transition Industries provides a comprehensive, cutting-edge guide to integrating smart sensing, data analytics, automation, and computational intelligence into traditional mechanical components.

From piping networks and valves to actuators and process equipment, this book explores how digital tools are revolutionizing the design, operation, monitoring, and maintenance of mechanical systems across energy-transition industries. It demonstrates how IoT sensors, digital twins, machine learning, and cloud platforms enable real-time monitoring, predictive maintenance, and lifecycle optimization, with a focus on carbon capture and storage (CCUS), hydrogen infrastructure, nuclear power, and renewable energy systems.

This book will be a key resource for mechanical, instrumentation, automation, and process engineers and researchers and graduate students specializing in energy transition, sustainability, digital twins, smart sensing, and CCUS.
