Multi-Scale and Whole-Process Oriented Potential Analysis & Technical Evaluation of Industrial Pollution Reduction introduces innovative multi-scale models like SPECM and SDM-BCPP, focusing on precise, collaborative emission reduction strategies across industrial, regional, and basin levels. The book systematically explores the mechanisms of whole-process emission reduction, integrating source control, process optimization, and end-of-pipe treatment, supported by practical case studies in industries such as packaging, printing, sugar manufacturing, and cement, as well as regional applications in the Liaohe River Basin and Gansu. It emphasizes multi-objective optimization, balancing emission reduction, cost-effectiveness, and carbon mitigation to generate actionable schemes. The detailed content spans research progress, model applications, and technical pathways for achieving sustainable industrial development, providing valuable insights for researchers, policymakers, and industry practitioners.

Bai, Lu
Dr. Bai Lu, a young elite in ecological and environmental protection, serves as a professor at the Chinese Research Academy of Environmental Sciences. Specialising in the prevention and control of industrial pollution, she uses industrial metabolism theory to study the mechanisms of material flow and the characteristics of pollutant emissions in industrial processes. Overcoming the limitations of traditional methods, which are overly subjective and imprecise, her innovative research identifies metabolic pathways, quantifies emissions and formulates regional reduction strategies. Dr Bai has earned seven provincial/ministerial science awards, as well as honours such as National Advanced Individual in Pollution Source Census and Outstanding Young Scientist.

Sun, Yuanyuan
Sun Yuanyuan, female, Ph.D., postdoctoral fellow and assistant researcher at the Chinese Research Academy of Environmental Sciences. Her research primarily focuses on the quantification of pollutant generation and discharge from industrial pollution sources, modular analysis of emission reduction throughout the entire industrial production process, and synergistic emission reduction, among other related areas. Addressing issues such as the low resolution, poor specificity and precision of current methods and models for assessing pollution reduction potential, as well as the lack of approaches to accurately evaluate pollution reduction potential in industrial production processes, she has developed a set of modular methods for assessing pollution reduction potential throughout the entire industrial production process. These methods provide methodological support for the accurate identification of industrial pollution reduction strategies and decision-making. She has published 10 academic papers, obtained 6 authorized invention patents, participated in compiling 4 books, and received 6 awards at or above the university/college level.

Qiao, Qi
Qiao Qi is a Second Grade Researcher, Chief Scientist of Chinese Research Academy of Environmental Sciences (CRAES), Doctoral Supervisor. She is an expert of the State Council Government Special Allowance and a national environmental protection professional and technical leader. Currently, she is the director of the Chinese Society of Environmental Sciences, the director of the Ecological Industry Branch of the Chinese Society of Environmental Sciences, the executive member of the Pollution Reduction and Carbon Reduction Collaborative Governance Committee of the Chinese Society of Environmental Sciences, and the executive director of the Industrial Ecological Economy and Technology Committee of the Chinese Society of Ecological Economics. She is mainly engaged in the research of cleaner production, eco-industry and industrial pollution source management. In the past five years, she has presided over more than twenty national and provincial key scientific research projects, authorized over ten invention patents, and won over ten provincial and ministerial science and technology awards.
