Biopolymer-Based Materials for Medical Applications: Fundamentals and Applications explores the latest developments in preparing and using bio-based polymers in biomedical science. Organized into three sections, the book starts by discussing the structures, chemical compositions, and physical properties of biopolymers. It further explores the methods for their preparation and characterization and provides a comprehensive discussion of their practical applications in medicine, covering areas such as drug and gene delivery, soft tissue engineering, dentistry, bone tissue engineering, and more. This book is an essential resource for researchers, scientists and advanced students in biopolymer science, polymer science, biomaterials, and materials science.

It will also be of interest to R&D professionals, scientists, and engineers across the plastics and biomedical industries.
