This book responds to the problems existing in concrete structures on the plateau by presenting a systematic technological breakthrough for concrete on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. Based on meteorological data, it establishes a climate zone for cement concrete in Tibet and improves the database of aggregate distribution on the plateau. It reveals the failure mechanism of the "gas-liquid" interface of concrete under low air pressure and proposes the control law of durability on the plateau. It also develops anti-freezing, temperature control, and pumping technologies suitable for drastic climate changes, and overcomes the problem of cracking control in mass concrete with large temperature differences. These achievements provide end-to-end technical support.

He won the second prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award in 2018 (ranked first) and was awarded the Certificate of the Third National Innovation and Excellence Award. In April 2025, he was awarded the title of "National Advanced Worker".

Lihui Li, a Doctor of Engineering, is a researcher at the Basic Research Innovation Center of the Highway Research Institute of the Ministry of Transport. In the past five years, he has successively led or participated in 8 scientific research projects funded by the Ministry of Science and Technology, local transportation departments, and local enterprises. He has also participated in the compilation and revision of 4 industry and local standards, published over 30 academic papers (11 SCI/EI), and been granted 9 invention patents. He won one first prize and one second prize of the Provincial and Ministerial-Level Scientific and Technological Progress Awards (ranked second).

Yong Ge is a Professor and PhD Supervisor at the School of Transportation Science and Engineering, Harbin Institute of Technology. He has long been engaged in research on high-performance concrete (HPC) and ultra-high-performance concrete (UHPC), functional materials for roads and buildings. In addition, he has advanced the development of green construction materials such as frost-resistant pervious concrete and recycled-aggregate concrete and mortar, and investigates high-performance lightweight aggregate concrete and lightweight ultra-ductile cementitious materials for resilient, low-carbon infrastructure.

Guoju Ke is an Associate Professor and Master’s Supervisor at the College of Civil Engineering, Taiyuan University of Technology. His research focuses on solid-waste valorization in construction materials, including all-solid-waste cementitious systems and eco-concrete. He also serves as a reviewer for leading journals such as Construction and Building Materials and Journal of Building Engineering.

Zhu Luo is a researcher at the Highway Research Institute of the Ministry of Transport. He has been dedicated to researching prefabricated concrete, the durability deterioration of concrete structures in high-altitude areas, and the impact of low-pressure environments on the pore structure of concrete.
