Prof. Vesna Tomašic, PhD was born on June 18, 1964 in Sisak. She graduated from the University of Zagreb Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Technology in 1999. She has worked in the Department of Reaction Engineering and Catalysis at her home Faculty since 1990. Since 2016, she has been a full professor with a permanent position in the field of technical sciences, the field of chemical engineering, branch of reaction engineering. She teaches numerous courses at all levels of study. Her narrow area of scientific interest is catalytic reaction engineering with special emphasis on the development and application of catalytic processes in environmental protection. She has published 2 chapters in books, 75 scientific papers (mostly in journals cited in tertiary publications), three chapters in university textbooks in Croatian and English, several professional papers and more than 40 papers on popularisation of the profession. She is the editor of the English university textbook Environmental Engineering – Basic Principles published by De Gruyter. She is a member of several national and international professional associations. She has held numerous positions at the Faculty (Vice-Dean for Teaching and Science (2005-2009), Coordinator of the undergraduate and graduate studies in Chemical Engineering (2005-2010), Head of the doctoral study in Chemical Engineering (2010-2014), etc.
