Born in Honolulu, Cedric Yamanaka has received numerous awards for his fiction and journalism. He wrote the screen adaptation of ""The Lemon Tree Billiards House,"" which received the Hawaii International Film Festival's Best Hawaii Film Award in 1996. He is currently working on his first novel.
