It's 2082. The Christian Alliance and Islamic Caliphate are at war. After ten years of combat in Algeria, Sergeant Alejandro O'Malley is sent back to the United States of America Reformation Republic. He finds a deadly socialist-conservative power struggle raging in Washington, D.C. Socialist President Tashika Fenton aims to be dictator for life. Her Department of Homeland Security murders political opponents while Islamic terrorists strike the city at will. In nearby Virginia, O'Malley meets conservative rebel leader Francis Monroe. They fall in love and marry. President Fenton orders Conservative Union presidential candidate Daniel Harlow murdered and blames it on the rebels. Fenton has a rebel operative mind-probed and learns Frances is the conservative rebel leader. While fleeing to the Pentagon, Frances is kidnapped by Homeland Security blackshirts. She is rescued by O'Malley in a gunbattle atop a bridge over the Potomac River. A local police chief gathers evidence proving Fenton murdered Harlow, and, with the help of Frances and O'Malley, it is passed to Patrick Murdock, who succeeded Harlow as the Conservative Union presidential candidate. Murdock releases the evidence to the press on condition that the Pentagon back his plan for hitting the Islamic Caliphate with deadly, virus-laden missiles. O'Malley persuades Frances and friends to go west where they can start a new life. Fearing Fenton will win the upcoming election, the Pentagon deposes her. She is shot dead in the White House. Murdock leaves Washington after the coup. The virus missiles are launched and Teheran, Damascus and Baghdad fall silent. A terrorist nuclear bomb obliterates Washington and Murdock assumes full presidential power. He orders HomeSec blackshirts battalions around the country to disband. Fenton's vice president claims the presidency and orders blackshirt battalions to stand fast. Civil war looms. West of Washington, the O'Malley caravan is caught in the middle.
