Almost a Wise Guy is a true story about Frankie Crooks, a down-to earth Italian kid from Greenwich Village, who is torn between two worlds...the mob and law enforcement. Both hold intrigue, because he has a brother in each trying to convince him to follow in their footsteps. Frankie sees the humor in life at the most inappropriate moments as he vacillates between a life of crime and being a law-abiding citizen. With a first person tongue-in-cheek approach, Frankie's life unfolds as we follow him through his escapades that leave him running for his life, both from the law and the hands of his strict Italian mother. A delightful mix between Catcher in the Rye and Analyze This, this book leaves readers wanting the 'bad' guy to win, while at the same time revealing what makes a criminal tick. Based on a true-story, Frankie Crooks lets you know what it's like to be Almost a Wise Guy.
